Chiswell Chairs

Five arm chairs, or ‘Carvers’, hand made by Chiswell, a furniture maker from Australia, established in the 1940s. 

The chairs are upholstered in original 1970s orange velvet fabric, complete with velvet buttoning. Timber type is unknown, but it looks like a very dark walnut (almost black) and each chair is particularly heavy. 

These chairs are a perfect example of classic 1970s furniture making in the modern Scandinavian style. Price $400 for the set of five.
